Produce from island farms, fish, seafood and regional heritage meats, the Boarding House offers market cuisine served with a focus on old school hospitality. The Boarding House is situated in the heart of Nantucket’s historic downtown; the glowing cellar dining room, lovely patio, and lively bar continually deliver stellar dinners, great drinks, and Best of Boston award-winning weekend brunch. The Boarding House holds Wine Spectator’s the BEST of Award of Excellence for its unique collection of wines, champagnes, and rosés. The veteran bar team craft both classic and innovative cocktails, anchored by a notable collection of small-batch bourbons and spirits. Selected as one of BEST Bourbon Bars in America 2015. Central to our mission is to mentor and collaborate with our cooks & team to find a balance in our cooking between authenticity and spontaneity. Influenced by the cuisines of Wine Country from California to Spain, France, Italy and beyond. Our menus are a reflection of the time we share at stove and table at home and when we gather with friends. We cook to restore ourselves after the intensity of the summer season ends, hosting dinner parties in the off season- we reconnect with our family and friends. Each dish holds so many stories- the hands that nurtured then harvested, the origin of a treasured recipe – tested over and over, with the simple hope it could convey our love of the craft of cooking. A herb, a vegetable, fish & shellfish, pasture raised animals, we source our ingredients and hope to honor them. Whether it's a bowl of house made cavtelli or grilled lobster spaghetti: we view our cooking as a recipe collection of love letters from our travels that arrives at your table, expressed with each dish.
